Junavara!

1 Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favorite color) and your background?

Hi there,
First sorry for my bad English and forgive me for all mistakes you will read.

My name is Boris and I was born 22.12.1981 at Paris.
My height is 1,74m and I weigh 62 kg. The color what I like are purple and orange/yellow.
I live in Paris and I work at Technical Drawings Checker for aircraft, near an airport at 35 km north from Paris.
My daily routine: wake up at 6h15, start work at 7h45/8h15 and finish....when the work is finish.
Can be 16h30 or 20h30. They didn't leave me so much time for something other.
On my free time, I love to create something (can be all and nothing), sleep and rest! Go sometimes at country to rest too.

2 How did you get your nickname?

When I created a map for Age of empires 2. I need a name for an Aztec leader. I created the name Juvanara.
After I changed the name of character for Lineage 2 to Junavara. And finally reuse this name for Chronicles of Andros.
When I came here, use it again and find out that "Junavara" significant "Spare train" at Finnish, was funny for me !

So you want to build great tracks?26. July 2009 23:30

Are you somebody who just picked up TMU and have this desire to place on the best of the week?

If so, you’re going to need to know a few basics about track building, which should help pave a road towards fame and glory. Here are 5 tips that should help get you on the right track (pun not intended).

1. Find the right environment for you.

Here’s one tip that’s rarely noted. Before you can even begin to build tracks, you’re going to need to know which environment suits you best for track building. You’ll want to try them all for long enough to get a “feel” of how the car handles on each environment before deciding on one that you’d like to build the most. This is best done with the Nadeo tracks, which will provide a wide variety of pieces and transitions for you to discover. However, it is also a good idea to try popular tracks on TMX as well, which leads to tip 2.

Here’s an article with a few words on Dedimania, the database that stores and compares your online track records!

Dedimania is, and always will be, the largest and fastest growing public TrackMania world record database. It boasts some of the top records on thousands and thousands of player-made tracks worldwide. Built from the ground up by Slig back in 2005, Dedimania is used 24/7 on more than 3600 servers throughout the world.

The Record Database is such an important part of any TrackMania server, as each server running a certain tool like Aseco or Fast is provided with more or less than 30 Dedimania records. These records are referred to as Dedi Recs, in which are the current best global records set on the current track.

Its official website devoted to the Dedicated Server by Nadeo, lists all 4.5 million records which can be sorted through using the many, many search functions that Dedimania gives you. Dedimania also lets you connect remotely using one of the four server controllers (Remote CP, Onyx, TM WEB or Basic) via your server's IP or server's nadeo game account. It even has a devised set of user types you can connect with, that's of course if you know the passwords.

Welcome back dear readers, for our 23th interview!  And this one is special to every TMUFX user :) You know him for a very long time and we know that you eager to know him better :P PPL we present you one and only…

JumperJack!

1. Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favourite colour) and your background?

Well, hello guys. My name is Carel Fransen, and I'm 19 years old. April 30. 2010 I'll turn 20. I live in the Netherlands, and currently studying Industrial Design Engineering in Delft, second year. I comply to the standard representation of a Dutch guy: 1m96 long and somewhere around 73 kg. My favorite color is green. I recently started learning to play the guitar (I used to play the cello in the past) and I'm an amateur squash player. Regarding music, I listen to a diverse amount of genres but prefer folk (KT Tunstall is my favorite), and well, I've been playing Trackmania for about 4 years now.

2. What made you become an track builder and who make biggest influence at your beginning?

Hard one to remember to be honest . I know that when I started playing nations, I was only interested for about two days or so, and I got back to Battlefield2 again. However, since my BF2 mates started to play the game as well, I gave it another try... the rest is history. ^^ I actually have never played another game those years. I think that my motivation for building my first track (OverZeaS, it's still on nations exchange) was an idea to make a story-track (as in stories - multiple levels on top of each other). But the 7 minute track didn't lead to a success, which I can understand these days. ^^ My biggest influence is definitely DerFeineHerr. His tracks , and his help for turning "Iron Butterfly" into one of my best tracks ever, made me want to try new stuff, and keep improving my trackbuilding!! Besides that, Djoszee has also helped me a really lot to improve my skills, and it’s still a pity that he hasn’t got the amount of attention I once had yet, since he'd really deserve it.

Summer Holidays9. July 2009 14:19

It’s summer – which is great – and that usually means people are going away on holidays to far-off countries or relatives in other cities. This shows on TMX in the form of people disappearing and saying temporary goodbyes.

In my case, I’ll be off to various places for the rest of the month. By experience, I know this doesn’t mean I’ll be away from TMX – I probably won’t be able to stay away for even a day – but it does mean less time for writing. In other words, I’ll step away from the TMX Blog for a while.

Furthermore, in mid August I’ll be moving and making some drastic changes to my personal life. Thus, I’ve decided not to continue to write for TMX (I’ll be writing full time anyway, and I’d rather spend my free time playing TM and hanging out in the TMX forum than writing even more).

The future of the blog therefore hangs loose. I know the Author Showcase team will continue to post their weekly interview for as long as they’re able to, but as of this moment, there isn’t really anyone else to update the blog – which is a shame, considering its so far quite short lifespan.

So if you are or know of someone who is capable and willing to write about TrackMania every now and then, now’s the time to step forward. It would be great if we could find someone who could keep the blog alive, or perhaps a little team of people who take turns writing posts.

If not, I guess we’ll see what happens.

For now, however, I wish you a pleasant holiday season! I’m sure I’ll see you around Wink

Last week I announced a small and quick, but hopefully still useful and interesting, project where you were all invited to suggest underrated tracks for a mention here in the blog.

The deadline passed several days ago (but due to some problems I’ve been unable to post during the past few days – thus the lack of activity this week), and now we have one selected for you all to try out Laughing

Unfortunately, though, it’s not a Stadium track, so this one is for all United players Wink
