And we now got the great news that we can publish our Interviews on TMX Blog! We hope you enjoy it!

If you think about RPG in Trackmania, and you are a bit familiar with the genre and online racing, you will immediately get some names in your head connected to this interesting genre in the Trackmania world. One of those names agreed to answer some questions. One of the best RPG-racers around, and always ready to help, we present to you:

HawkGer!

1 Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favourite colour) and your background?
Hey everyone! My name is Hauke and I was born on the christmas eve of '89, which makes me 19 years old. I was born in Germany near the border of the Netherlands but I have been living in Neumünster (north of Hamburg) now for 7 years with my family. I'm a little underweight with a weight of 60kg and a height of 1,80m. I do not have any favourite colour, though I favour certain colour combinations using the Triadic Colour Scheme. Two months ago I completed my secondary education by passing the 'Abitur' and I am now serving 9 months of community service in a local facility for handicapped people.

2 How did you get your Nickname?
Before entering the world of Trackmania, I didn't really have a nickname I could identify myself with..just using random nicks. As I had no real ambitions at first, I just chose a very simple nick:'HAWK'. I could identify with that nick probably because it's similar to my real name. With time though I realized that this nick wouldn't hold too long. There were way too many people also calling themselves 'Hawk' for me to be recognized as myself and not as just another...Hawk. So I added the first three characters of my last name to my nickname and I thought it would fit perfectly because they also represent my nationality and if you pronounce it the way I do, you get 'HawkGear' ...which kind of fits very good to a racing game ^^
And born was 'HawkGer'...I kept it since then!

Nadeo nears the big 1026. August 2009 11:14
Posted By: View User Profile Fastforza Permalink | Comments (7)

I thought I'd share this moment with the wrest of the community.

It's correct that Nadeo has almost reached 10 Million (~10,000,000) player registrations. This must be a record achievement for such as small game company. I'm sure with the latest addition to the TrackMania series, Forever would've boosted Nadeo's reuptation with TrackMania Nations being by far, the best free online-racing game developed.

We should also not forget that Nadeo is realsing 2 new games soon. ShootMania and QuestMania, both hoping to boost Nadeo's reuptation further than what TrackMania has in the past 5 years.

Comments and thoughts welcome, thanks. :)

Welcome back dear readers, for our 28th interview! Well this week we bring you Danish football superstar that you maybe know, but it’s hide behind very mysterious name :) He’s playing for one very famous Premiership club and represent one very important part of squad! being FAN XD Girls and boys we present you ….

Mr.Mono!

1 Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favorite color) and your background?

- Eeey guys. It's mono here. In real life my name is Sebastian, so i guess you can wonder how my name is mono ? Anyway as it also can be seen in the birthday thread my birthday is on the 12th of August '93 and so I'll give you the chance of thinking about how old it am. I was born in a Danish city named Aalborg. I think I'm about 1 meter and 74-5 I think ? I'm about 67 kg so that's pretty normal i think. My favorite color is blue (i think ?). I do enjoy doing sports and working out and stuff like that. I've been playing football for 10 years and I've also went to other sports but football is my call.

2 How did you get your nickname?

- Because Mono means 'one' and I am the one ? Nah, just kidding. Actually, it's what I'm also called in real life. The story was: when I moved to the school I just finished, I had a t-shirt on for one day, and one of my friends saw it sais mono, and he asked cheeky: "Why don't we call you mono instead of Sebastian", and so that turned into my new name. I bet that some people doesn't even know my real name Because I'm known everywhere as mono, and so people know me as mono. So when I signed up to tmx, and I had to pick a user name, I just chose mono. In the beginning it was 'Mr. Mono' but now it's just Mono.

Welcome to the 4th video showcase, containing a clip where lots of users worked on!

This video isn't that new, but definitely worth watching! It took a long time to be made, and maybe that's why attention to the project went down a little bit. But still, it is one of the best *K Projects! You don't see a lot of these videos because they take so long to make, so get ready to be flushed over by a wave of cars!

The Good Parts

  • 1.15K Cars flooding around!
  • Good camerawork that got the special jumps/stunts
  • How much K-project clips are there?
  • Cool MT work
  • Nice music…

The Bad Parts

  • But a strange transition between the first 2 songs
  • A bit too long
  • Only 1 track

Be sure to check this video out right away, on tm-tube !

We hope you enjoyed this video. If not (which we hope isn’t the case), just check our other showcases out or wait for the next Saturday, when we return with another special video showcase! Keep checking The TMX Blog!

Welcome back dear readers, for our 27th interview! You probably don’t know him, you probably don’t even care, but one thing is for sure when you try his tracks you will never forget him :) PPL we present you giant on the wheels …

Matty!

1 Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favorite color) and your background?

My real name is Martin but my friends always call me matty because I like that more I'm 17 years old and I live in Germany near Saarbrücken ( that’s near France ). Next year, I’m going to make 'abitur'; it's the university-entrance diploma in Germany. Well I’m quite tall, I'm 193 cm high and my weight is around 80 kilograms. My favorite color is blue At the moment I'm in no clan for online playing and in mapperworld for mapping in real life I love painting pictures, in school I’m one of the best.

2 What made you become a track builder and who make biggest influence at your beginning?

Well when I played TMN online I liked the freaky minis from fish because they were challenging and I had a lot of fun on his maps. I'm really a fan of this guy. When TMNF released I tried to build some tracks in fish-style, at the beginning they were really bad but after some time I learned how to make a quite nice track Even today I love his maps.

Welcome back dear readers, for our 26th interview! This week we bring you terror, fear and a person that you all probably know from your worst nightmares :D No, it’s not Freddy Cruger, not even Candyman, people we present you the Legendary …

BLiNNeMaNS!

1 Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favorite color) and your background?
Well, most people just call me blin, but only my family calls me Jeroen, so that's my official name.
I am a 33 yrs old, 2,01meter bald male and live in Alkmaar, Netherlands. That's also my place of birth btw.
Beside TMX I got some other hobbies like drawing, web design, photography, music and dutch language in general.

2 How did you get your nickname?
Well, that's a loooong story ^^
It all started in the early 90's when i had to come up with a release name for my audio tracks I built with Protracker on the Commodore amiga.
As I was a big fan of the Gobliiins games and also had intentions to start warhammer, i chose Hobgoblin.
After a while i got bored of the fact people on bulletinboards (pre-internet filesharing) called me hobs, so i removed that part.
Then I started DJ-ing for a while, under the name DJ Goblin. However, due to the fact I didn't have a steady hand I ruined most of my records when putting the needle on them. So I decided to end my DJ career and trade my SL set for a CD player. (I know, not the smartest move )
Anyways, after the DJ career I went back to producing music. Now, with the rise of the internet, i chose Goblin as my online name.
After a few years of exploring the web and looking for cool games, I got introduced to my 1st LAN party, hosted by LANMANIAX. It was in an old (law)court, that wasn't used anymore.
There I got introduced to HalfLife Deathmatch and counterstrike. As I was the typical teamplayer for my clan (OOPS-Clan) I always saved $$ to be able to buy the machinegun and play on a support role for the rushing teammates.
As it was on a LAN I could see and hear my teammates. They were shouting Go BLiN, Go BLiN.. It sounded nice, and because the game itself also had a keycombo to let your character shout "Go go go!!" I decided it'd be BLiN from that day forward.
Well, that's about it. I still call myself BLiN nowadays. As i know most of my buddies In real life from the LAN parties, most of them call me BLiN instead of Jeroen.
Fun fact: girlfriends of those buddies don't even know my real name. So their friends don't either.
As BLiN is a bit short, some people added the word "mans" to it. Mans kinda means the same as "manly", "cool" etc.
So there you have it. BLiNNeMaNS

Video Showcase – Team 402 (The Movie)7. August 2009 12:39
Posted By: View User Profile Fastforza Permalink | Comments (4)

This weeks Video Showcase is … Team 402 – The Movie!

This weeks Video showcase, showcases some fast replays by some of the fastest French racers in TrackMania. The 7 minute video, spread across multiple League Tracks is surely one of the most creative TM videos out there.

t402tm

The Good Parts

  • Very good editing and excellent media tracker editing.
  • Variety of music selected to play in the background was good.
  • Driving I witnessed was astounding to watch. Very fast and accurate times posted.

The Bad Parts

  • The music melody wasn't well mixed.
  • A small selection of Tech tracks were picked. Not that a large collection would be needed, but otherwise would be nice to see.

You should check out the video at TM – Tube. Here. Your comments and ideas are welcome.

You should’ve also noticed that the general idea has changed since the Pilot(First) showcase. From now on we'll be using this type of Showcase setup.
