Madhouse Knockout #226. September 2009 14:04
Posted By: View User Profile Fastforza Permalink | Comments (14)

If you've raced in the first Madhouse Knockout comp. Then you'll be very interested in the second!

My good Aussie friend, Mikey, has organized the second Madhouse Knockout competition! Madhouse Knockout is one of Australia's well known competitions, the first competition was fun and well recieved by players. There was plenty of spectating by most players, but that's the nature of the Madhouse Knockout competition in itself is entertaining to watch.

If you are planning on joining the event, please be sure to turn up earlier, at least 15 minutes. The competition is expected to commence start at 8:00pm (AEST +10), this event shouldn't exceed 1-2 hours, depends on number of players. You should find the server in the Australin zone, the name should say it all.

Format:
Game Mode : Rounds
Warmup : 1
Points to win round/track: 10
Finish Timeout: 60 seconds
Basically only one attempt on each track !

Rules:
If all players complete the round last place is eliminated, Knocked out, other wise ;
Any invalid times , knocked out , sorry
All "Did not finish", knocked out

Notes
It will be unavoidable that some competitors will also be authors, sorry, but they will only get an advantage on one or two tracks so it shouldn't be a big advantage. When it is down to only 8 competitors left, for no tracks will the author be of a remaining player. The quality and style of the tracks could be highly variable and in some cases even a little dodgey. But the tracks are equal to all so don't complain, You are competing against each other at the same time on the same tracks. Hopefully all the tracks will be new tracks made for this competition, But extra tracks may be from TMX if needed. Australian internet infrastructure is not that good compared to other places, that combined with our location, Server bandwidth and potential international congestion at that time, There may be lag for some etc This is out of my control, if you are knocked out because of this sorry, but no exceptions will be made.

Starting times
GMT: 10:00
AUS: 20:00 EST ( 8:00pm )
ENG: 11:00
FRA : 12:00
GER: 12:00
USA: 3:00 West
USA: 6:00 East

If you require more assistance, vist the Australian TrackMania website.

Thanks! Fastforza.

If you haven't already heard of the FunPark RPG Cup, I'll explain it.

FunPark's RPG Cup is an event focusing on uniting RPG players from all around the world to compete in one large RPG event, but remember that this event mainly about having fun with other RPG players. The RPG Cup was an initially created by error1.3 and >Y<.

The FunPark RPG Cup will be a 3 day long even, running from the 25th to the 27th of September 2009 at around approximately 18:00 (UTC). The event will take place on one of FunPark's servers - FunPark | RPG Cup. You should find this server in Sweden. It will be online everyday until the RPG event starts, giving you time to practice.

If you think you can't compete. Your wrong! This event is being held for anyone, so there are no limitations of any kind.

There will be several maps to play set out on 3 consecutive days. Friday's (25th) line up -  Castle of Shadows, Legopolis and Montezumas Treasure. Saturday's (26th) line up - Sobékite, The Boat and Baofengxue. Last but not least, Sunday's (27th) line up - Mario World, Mykérinos and Pyramids Of Giza.

Prizes for the event are a little different this time. The more players donate, the more the amount of coppers that can be handed out. There is no fixed price, so your free to donate as much as you want towards the event to increase the prizes value.

Betting for the FunPark RPG Cup will start when the last round on the 26th ends. You can bet on your favourite player by sending a PM or ingame mail to login: pcerrornerd. You'll need to write how much your betting and the player your betting against. All betting closes before the final round starts on the 27th. Names of the finalists will be posted on the cups homepage, here.

I hope some of you will participate in the FunPark RPG Cup and have some fun!

Sorry for the delays on this post. Fastforza.

This article has been written +9 hours ahead of Frances timezone.

In less than 24 hours, Nadeo & Focus Home are going to be revealing the future of TrackMania at the Paris Game Festival.

This came as a surprise to the community when Florent announced last week that the future of TrackMania will be unveiled at the Paris Game Festival. What we know is that Focus and Florent (Nadeo) will be revealing TrackMania for the Wii at around 13:30PM, Saturday 19th September. What we don’t know is whether or not Florent will be also announcing any additions to the PC version of TrackMania at the Paris Game Festival. Many people are speculating the release of new environments, a complete TrackMania Forever add-on for both games, heck some people think Nadeo will announce and reveal ShootMania or QuestMania.

During the weekend we’ll try and keep all you guys and girls updated about Nadeo’s announcement.

If anyone is attending the Paris Game Festival, try and do your best to attend the Focus and Nadeo exhibition. As I’m sure you’ll be pleased with the announcements Nadeo and Focus have to say.

I’m sure we are all looking forward to the future of TrackMania as much as Nadeo are! So keep your eyes out for further announcements around the community.

Comments are welcome.

This week we bring you person that’s not that know to most of you ppl, maybe because he is new comer or you just missed his development, but one thing is for sure…this guy we got to meat closer :) Boys and girls we present you…

Abzocker!

1. Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favorite color) and your background?

OK! let´s start, my real name is Daniel. I was born on 29th August 1994 so I´m now 15 years old. I´m a German and i lived the whole live there. Exact city of my birth is Freiburg (city in the south of Germany). My height is around of 1,80m and my weight is 61kg. Some people may call me underweight, but I´m really happy with my actual weight. My biggest preference is the music. This sounds really funny because I never played any instruments and I wouldn´t try to learn it. But in school it´s the subject i hate the most. The reasons are not that I sing terribly for example...
It´s more cuz there you make only boring classical music or jazz.
In past I listen only metal through my father, but know I listen to nearly everything you can find in the charts or anywhere else. As you may thought my favorite color is green (you see that at the signs in my tracks )
Actually I´m in the 9th grade of the academic high school (hope this words fits right) as a pupil.

2. How did you get your nickname?

OMG! The day where i conceived my nickname is really long ago.
Well this go back to the roots when i start to play TM (June 2008) . I can´t exactly remember, but i think the reason was that i never be good in playing PC-Games. "Der Abzocker" is German and means something about “win over the most or all other persons” clearly. When I created my account "der_abzocker" the good friend who showed me Trackmania thought it would be funny, if a Noob, like me calls himself "Abzocker" and so I created this Nickname.
If you´re German person you may thought before you´re reading this nice interview I´m a big arrogant assh***, but I created it only for fun.
Of course I´m sure that I´m the most time a very friendly person where you can talk to about everything...

Video Showcase - SunRace13. September 2009 18:58
Posted By: View User Profile Januy Permalink | Comments (10)

Welcome to the 6th video showcase, this time we are going to watch some high-speed racing!

I had a pretty hard time on finding a good video, not having too much views or popularity (we want to give original clips, you know). So this week we don’t have an astonishing clip, but it’s certainly worth watching! Because, what the hell, these guys can drive! Check out how Rom and Roxer are going high speed in Bay and Island, taking turns with inches from the sideboards and precision that is very hard to find!

naamloos5

The Good Parts

  • Nice speeding music, gets you in the mood!
  • Sick driving
  • Much classics are driven

The Bad Parts

  • You aren’t going to watch this for the editing/camera’s
  • Durex?!

Be sure to check the video here at tm-tube

We hope you enjoyed this video and the article, if you did then you should come back next Saturday, when there will be a hot, fresh new video laying here on your webpage!

Hey, it’s a star, it’s a train, it’s a rocket hehehe nope it’s  not superman and don’t living in smallville, but one part of this story is true ;) Ppl we present you …

Ville!

1 Please tell us more about yourself (birthday, real name, place of birth, height, weight, favorite color) and your background?

Well hello, my name is Ville and I was born on 14 July, 1993, which means that I'm now 16 years old. I'm Finnish, and I have lived my whole life in Finland. I'm probably around 175cm tall and my weight is 64kg. I'm in senior high school now (if that's the right word), on a music class. In fact, music is my second life, I play drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, a little bit of keyboard and so on... also, I'm currently going on a class of musical theory in my music institute (which is boring, but has to be done) and I also have band lessons once a week. I listen to metal at the moment, and probably because of the brainwash that it has caused to me, my favorite color is black. I also used to play football, but I stopped it not too long time ago. All my time goes with music, and so I had to leave football. My family consists of my dad, mom, two sisters and a dog.

2 What made you become an track builder and who make biggest influence at your beginning?

I used to be in several good racing clans before I found out that tracking is actually way more fun than just driving others' tracks. I don't really know if there was a factor that actually "made" me become interested in mapping, but overall I think I wanted to create something new and please the drivers. At first, I uploaded some very noobish maps in TMX and got some good feedback from people.. I had luck. I learned to make better and better maps. At some point I also noticed that smok3y had been awarding many of my tracks. I asked if he wanted to make a duo with me, and well, he said yes. I learned a lot from him during the project and he has a great influence in my tracking style even today. By the way, the duo was started around 2,5 years ago and it's still not released... xD
Second influence that comes in my mind is without doubt Homie. I loved his maps and also made a duo with him in the early 2008. He showed me how amazing island can be, and I think that's one of the reasons why so many of my tracks are Island. I started another duo with him too, but guess what - still not released ^^
Third influence... Hageldave. Kinda the same reasons as with Homie. He also made some really amazing tracks with awesome ideas. Also, he was one of the people who introduced Bay to me. And I really love Bay nowadays, he had an influence on that. Also, Iquere. He made outstanding Islanders too, and well, that just made my Island-love grow - even more. Nowadays I'm in Xtreme Trackers and all of them have helped me a lot, too.
